About Best WoW Calculators
Best WoW Calculators is a free set of World of Warcraft calculators for the classic versions of the game: the original game (Vanilla / Classic), The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King. It is made by GEMWEB, a small independent web studio, for players who want quick, accurate tools that work on any device without an account.
This is an unofficial fan site. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Blizzard Entertainment, and it uses no game art, icons or logos: talent buttons show short letter codes, and all descriptions are written in our own words.
Talent data
The three talent calculators use the final talent trees of each expansion:
| Calculator | Patch | Classes | Talents | Ranks |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Classic WoW | 1.12 | 9 | 432 | 1,355 |
| The Burning Crusade | 2.4.3 | 9 | 579 | 1,732 |
| Wrath of the Lich King | 3.3.5 | 10 | 829 | 2,242 |
We compiled the trees from public community references and checked them against established community talent calculators such as wowtbc.gg: for every tree of every class, the number of talents and the number of ranks of each talent in order match. Talent names, positions and prerequisites follow the in-game trees; effect values are given per rank (for example "2 / 4 / 6%").
If you find a mistake, please let us know; every talent can be corrected from our admin panel without changing any code. Data last reviewed 29 October 2026.
Formulas
Arena points
From patch 2.2: 0.22 × rating + 14 for ratings up to 1500 and 1511.26 / (1 + 1639.28 × e^(−0.00412 × rating)) above, then ×0.88 for 3v3 and ×0.76 for 2v2, rounded down. The same formula is used for Wrath, where teams under 1500 were later paid as 1500. This formula is documented by the player community, including Warcraft Wiki.
Combat ratings and caps
Rating-to-percentage values at levels 70 and 80 (for example 15.77 hit rating per 1% at 70 and 32.79 at 80), hit caps against raid bosses, the 26-expertise dodge cap and the 490 / 540 defense caps come from long-standing theorycrafting results collected on Warcraft Wiki and class community guides.
Vanilla honor ranks
Rank point thresholds, the 15 standing brackets with their rank point awards, the 20% weekly decay and the halved, 2,500-point-limited weekly loss come from the patch 1.12 ranking system as documented by Warcraft Wiki and the French community site JudgeHype.
Experience
XP per level for patches 1.12, 2.4.3 and 3.3.5 comes from the experience tables on Warcraft Wiki. Rested XP builds at 5% of a level per 8 hours in an inn or city (a quarter of that outdoors), up to 1.5 levels.
